"Activism, in a general sense, can be described as intentional action to bring about social or political change."
- From Wikipedia.

There are a number of ways to get involved and take part in the political process - from the basic exercise of your vote and the will to speak out on social and political issues - to community building, volunteering, donations, and even demonstration.

The Kingston & the Islands NDP is here to support your desire to bring about meaningful political and social change, in the fashion that best suits your abilities.

Please check out some of our options below, and do not hestitate to Contact Us for more information on how you can contribute to the NDP's quest for fair and progressive government and social equality for Canadians.

Renee Stephen Federal Campaign - We Need Your Support!

As we move towards a future Federal Election, we are looking for your support to elect Renee Stephen as your NDP Member of Parliament. Renee is dedicated to progressive and practical change for all citizens of Kingston & the Islands.

Whether you are interested in volunteering, canvassing, making a donation, or simply giving Renee a word of encouragement or insight, we want to hear from you!

VOLUNTEER: Our campaign team is looking for a host of volunteers for pre-election help with phone and foot canvasing, raising awareness and election preparedness. Contact volunteer coordinator Jamie Masse for more information.

MAKE A STATEMENT: If you are interested in showing your support through wearing a button or displaying a lawn sign, please contact signs@reneestephen.ca for details.

MAKE A DONATION: Donating to the Ontario NDP costs less than you think, thanks to generous political tax credits. Contact contributions@reneestephen.ca to learn more about the donation process.

Joining The NDP

When you join the NDP, you join both the Ontario NDP and the Federal NDP with one membership. Membership is $25/year (only $5 if unemployed or underemployed) - which is less than $7 after the 75% federal tax credit.

  • Join the NDP via the Federal NDP website.
  • Ask Us about membership at the Kingston & the Islands Riding Association.
  • Join the NDP as a Sustaining Member.

One of the best ways to support our riding is to join or renew your membership as a Sustaining Member. Sustaining Members make automatic monthly contributions - as small or large as you like - through your chequing account or credit card.

You'll get 75% of what you give back on your Income Tax return. And a portion of what you give comes directly to the riding each month, to help us elect an NDP MPP and MP for Kingston & the Islands!
